Attuning to Nature: Full Moon in Taurus & the Metal Element

Right now is a beautiful time to attune to nature’s rhythm. In Chinese Medicine, this season belongs to the Metal Element, a time of refinement and release. The trees are showing us how to let go gracefully — releasing their leaves, conserving their energy, and preparing for the quiet wisdom of winter.

Just like the trees, we’re invited to release what no longer nourishes us, creating space for stillness and clarity.

This Full Moon in Taurus today invites us to slow down, root into the Earth, and reconnect with what truly sustains us. Taurus, an Earth sign, reminds us of the power of grounding and the beauty found in simplicity. Full Moons illuminate what’s ready to be released, helping us return to balance and inner steadiness.

This moon is also known as the Beaver Moon, named for the time when beavers — those wise, nocturnal builders — prepare for the cold months ahead by building and repairing their dams. Their instinctive rhythm mirrors our own call to prepare for winter: to build our inner reserves, tend to our homes, and create a sense of cozy stability before the deep rest of the colder season.

The Metal Element & Letting Go

In Chinese Medicine, the Lungs and Large Intestine are the organs associated with the Metal Element. The lungs govern breath, inspiration, and the ability to take in life, while the large intestine helps us release what is no longer needed. When these energies are balanced, we can exhale fully — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Autumn and the Metal season remind us that letting go is not loss — it’s a natural clearing that makes space for what’s next. As we align with this rhythm, we may find grief softening into gratitude and release becoming renewal.

Simple Ways to Work with This Energy

✨ Journal – Reflect on what you’re ready to release or simplify in your life.

🌿 Take a walk in the leaves – Let nature mirror the gentle process of letting go.

☕ Invite hygge habits – Wrap yourself in warmth, light a candle, and enjoy cozy rituals that nurture your body and soul.

🎨 Create or bake – Colour, paint, or bake something simple — a sensory way to ground and express yourself.

🧺 Declutter – Make space in your home (and your heart) for what truly matters.

B-r-e-a-t-h-e - one of the most powerful ways to calm and ground yourself is take deep healing breaths.

Full Moon Reflection: Each Day

Take a few moments to ground and centre yourself. Feel your breath slow, your body settle, and our awareness return to the present moment.

As you breathe in, imagine drawing strength and stability from the Earth.

As you exhale, release what you no longer need — thoughts, tensions, or emotions that feel heavy.

Enjoy this short Full Moon meditation as a way to align with nature’s wisdom:

“I let go with ease, trusting the cycles of change. I root into the Earth, calm and whole.”
